Downtown Denver Partnership – Pop Up Denver Program

In teaming up with the City of Denver’s Department of Economic Development and Opportunity (DEDO) and the Downtown Denver Partnership (DDP), Tribe worked to help first time brick and mortar businesses successfully establish pop up retail stores along the iconic 16th Street Mall. The Pop Up Denver program was created to tackle three main challenges: the changing nature of retail; the economic impact of COVID-19; and the potential impact of the upcoming 16th Street Mall reconstruction project. With an increased number of vacancies attributed to these three factors, this program was created as an opportunity to work with property owners to activate vacant spaces and bring in new and unique retail and art activations that “reimagine downtown one storefront at a time.”

Following selection of retail vacancies and retailers by the DDP, our team collaborated with business owners to get them through the city’s permitting process at an expedited pace, while assisting with interior design and merchandising plans for each location. Check out the first phase of the program’s businesses here!
